    Meet Your Teachers

Libby Creagh, lead teacher and creator of Essential You Yoga Teacher Training, has been practicing and sharing yoga for more than twenty years.  She currently teaches yoga and meditation in studios, community centers, privately, and for patients and families at the Moffitt Cancer Center.

Since becoming certified to teach, Libby has shared yoga around the world.

She managed one of the largest studios in Texas, spent years traveling and teaching yoga in Central America, developed a program that combined language and yoga in West Africa, and was a featured teacher at the International Yoga Festival in Nicaragua and Yoga Expo in Ft. Lauderdale.

Libby is an Experienced Yoga Teacher with more than 4,000 classroom hours.

She designed and wrote Essential You Yoga teacher training to help teachers find their unique voices and contributions to the ancient art of yoga.  Libby believes that yoga is a living art, and that each person who steps into the bare feet of the yoga teacher both upholds an old tradition and adds to it.

Ultimately, Libby strives to offer a down-to-earth practice that helps people create real change in their lives.

Danielle deGregory Sweet is the owner and head instructor at Jai Dee Yoga & Wellness in Seminole Heights.

Danielle became a studio owner after a nearly two-decade long career teaching high school in Hillsborough County. One of the most rewarding parts of her teaching career was helping mentor and develop new teachers. Her knowledge from those experiences informs her philosophy and teaching methodology as an instructor of Essential You Yoga Teacher Training.

Danielle believes in the importance of deepening students’ study of all eight limbs of yoga and uses that content to teach new yoga teachers how to uncover their own unique voices. The extensive hours Danielle has spent teaching yoga in both group settings and private lessons has given her a vast body of practical experience to draw from as she teaches how to teach beyond theory.

Florence GiacaloneOriginally from the south of France, Florence (Flo) began her yoga practice nearly a decade ago, deep in the Amazon Rainforest in Perú (where she lived for eight years), after feeling a calling to strengthen the connection between her body, spirit, and mind.

A deep desire to help others discover the transformative powers of yoga led Florence to Málaga, Spain, where she completed her first training in yoga.

She strives to offer services that are personalized and accessible to everyone, which is why in addition to becoming certified in several types of yoga , she explores reiki, shamanism, sound healing (drum, singing bowls), and intuitive voice in her classes.

Flo is happiest when she is outside in nature, or when she is doing something creative with her hands: creating earrings, macrame designs, sewing, knitting, drawing – just to name a few!

    FAQ's

Is Essential You Yoga Teacher Training Accredited with the Yoga Alliance?

    • Yes! Both the 200 & the 300 hour trainings are accredited with the Yoga Alliance. That means your training will be recognized nationally and internationally.

What does Yoga for Trauma mean?

    • Creating a Trauma Informed Yoga Practice means being aware of common language, environmental, and other cues that could cause students with past trauma to feel triggered and unsafe. A Trauma Informed Yoga Practice cultivates a "safe space" where the lasting transformation of yoga has space to root and grow.

    What is Trauma?

    • Trauma is a widespread experience that affects individuals in different ways. Often, it is characterized by a threat to one's physical, emotional, or psychological well-being. Trauma can also be an accumulation of experiences that, when not addressed or released, creates a habitual form of interacting with each other and oneself from a space of frustration, discomfort,, or dis-ease. This can damagie an individual's overall sense of security and stability, creating profound effects on the mind and body. People holding trauma experience a wide range of emotions, physical sensations, and recurring thoughts.

What if I don't want to teach?

    • Many people choose to take Yoga Teacher Training because they just want to learn more about yoga. You will absolutely get an in-depth understanding of the history and philosophy of yoga as well as learn about the subtle yogic body and how that knowledge intersects with Western medicine's view of the body. You will also learn a lot about how to safely share this practice with others, and you just might find that you are inspired to do that when you complete this training. Either way, we welcome you on this journey of transformation!

Why do you teach the Business of Yoga?

    • Your lead teachers at Essential You Yoga Teacher Training are full-time yoga teachers, and we know that in order for you to sustainably share this practice out in the world, you need to earn enough money to truly devote yourself. Whether you are looking to teach yoga part-time or dive into the world of full-time teaching, we are here to support you and help you create a plan for success.

Why are the class sizes limited?

    • We believe in the importance of small-group learning. We want you to get the individualized attention you need to take your practice and teaching to the next level. Small class sizes and even smaller student to teacher ratio will ensure you can find your unique yoga voice.

What extra materials do I need?

    • We recommend having a three-ring binder, a notebook with blank pages (no lines,) and the course reading material: Yoga Anatomy by Lesley Kaminoff, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali translated by Sri Swami Satchidananda, and The Heart of Yoga: Developing a Personal Practice by T.K.V. Desikachar

What if I want to take more than 5 classes each month at Jai Dee and Hanaq Prana?

    • We want you to do all the yoga!! If 10 classes a month are not enough for you, Jai Dee and Hanaq Prana offer the opportunity to trade time spent in the studio for time spent in class. In this way, you get to learn the behind the scenes work it takes to keep your community yoga studios open, the software that most yoga studios use, and spend more time in class.
